Body vs. Mind

Weight loss is not just about changing your food choices and calorie intake. Your mind also plays a significant role in maintaining a healthy weight. Often, impulsive behavior can trigger bad habits, and rational decision-making can be challenging.

Achieving a healthy weight requires mental balance and making healthier choices. Emotional eating is a common coping mechanism that distracts us from our feelings. Before eating, ask yourself why you want it and when you last ate. Emotional hunger can often lead to unhealthy snack choices.

Instead of forcing yourself to resist food, focus on developing awareness of your feelings and emphasizing healthy eating habits. Take your time while eating, as it takes time for hormones like ghrelin and leptin to signal the brain that you are full. Eating slowly can help you consume the appropriate number of calories.

Achieving and maintaining a healthy weight is a lifelong endeavor that requires physical and mental effort.
